How We're Funded: Advertising, Placements and Affiliates
The short version
Can I Drive is an independent publisher. It earns money three ways: paid placements from law firms, sponsorship placements sold through our advertise page, and affiliate commissions on home test-kit listings. Every paid element is labelled on the page where it appears. The editorial content — the state law pages, the guides and the reform coverage — is not for sale, and no advertiser has input into it, advance sight of it, or the ability to have a page changed or removed.
What we sell
Law-firm placements. Featured Firm listings ($499/month, one firm per state), Standard lawyer directory listings ($99/month) and a single National Partner slot ($1,499/month), booked through our for law firms page.
Sponsorship placements. A site-wide Site Sponsor slot ($999/month, one brand at a time) and "presented by" Guide Sponsor labels ($199/month per guide), sold through our media kit. Newsletter sponsorship ($149 per send) becomes available once the reform-update email launches.
Affiliate commissions. Some links on our self-test kits page may be affiliate links. They are disclosed on that page, per our editorial policy.
What is not for sale
Nothing on the law side of this site. Advertisers cannot buy coverage, favourable treatment, a topic, or the absence of a topic. We do not run general advertising on the pages where someone is deciding what to do about a positive test — those pages carry clearly labelled law-firm placements only. We refuse advertising that promises "pass the test" outcomes, products that claim to mask or beat roadside testing, unapproved therapeutic claims, or anything aimed at under-25s.
The editorial policy sets out how content is produced and verified independently of everything above.
