Our editorial policy

Who we are

We are an independent Australian publisher covering the intersection of medicinal cannabis prescriptions and driving law. We are not a law firm, a medical service, a clinic, or a cannabis supplier, and we do not sell, promote, or recommend any therapeutic product.

How our information is produced

Every page covering the law is drafted from primary sources — legislation, parliamentary records, and official government publications — and reviewed by our editor before publication. Each page displays a "last verified" date. We re-check pages on a rolling schedule and immediately when a relevant bill, judgment, or government announcement occurs.

Our sources

We cite the specific Acts, bills, and official government pages our summaries are based on, and we link to them so you can verify anything we say.

What we will never publish

We do not publish content about avoiding, masking, or timing around drug tests. We do not tell readers when it is "safe" to drive after taking medication — no general resource can responsibly do that. We do not promote or advertise medicinal cannabis products, brands, clinics, or prescription services, consistent with Australian therapeutic goods advertising law.

Who writes and checks our pages

Our pages are written by the publisher rather than credited to an individual, and where a page has been checked by an independent professional, that reviewer is named. Their name links to a profile setting out their qualifications and registration, so you can confirm they are entitled to check the material.

We publish this way on purpose. The person who runs this site is not a lawyer, so putting their name on a page about criminal traffic law would imply an authority they do not have. What matters to you is whether someone qualified has checked it — so that is the name we publish, and the only name we publish. We do not invent bylines, and we do not credit a reviewer who has not actually read the page.

Editorial responsibility for everything here sits with the publisher, whose business details and contact address are on the contact page. A page showing no reviewer has not yet been independently checked.

Advertising and affiliate income

This site is funded by clearly disclosed paid placements from law firms and by affiliate commissions on general consumer products such as home test kits. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content, our state law summaries, or our reform coverage. Paid placements are always labelled.

Sites under common ownership

This site shares an owner with 420 Friendly, an Australian cannabis and hemp business directory. We occasionally link to it where it covers something we do not — for example workplace drug-testing law. Those links are editorial: nobody pays for them, we receive nothing when you follow one, and we apply the same standard we would to any other source. We disclose the relationship wherever such a link appears so you can weigh it yourself. We do not link to clinics, prescribers or product suppliers from our editorial pages, whoever owns them.

Corrections

If you believe anything on this site is out of date or incorrect, tell us via the contact page. We prioritise correction reports and update pages promptly, noting the change.
